Quite possibly one of the most delicious things ever, I once thought I could only have this amazing dessert at my favorite restaurant, Roy’s. Turns out making chocolate lava cake is not nearly as intimidating as you might think, it’s actually quite easy and pretty hard to mess up. Now that’s my kind of baking!
I recently found a great new summer recipe on one of my favorite blogs and I had to try it out. It was fresh, light and very tasty…so I thought I must share! It was really easy to throw together and makes a wonderful bbq sidedish, light dinner, or even to just have in the fridge to pick at all week. (pretty much what I’ve been doing).
I am a fanatic about Indian food and it gets a little pricey to order it or go out to dinner frequently, so I thought I would tackle it in the kitchen. I thought it might be challenging to find some of the ingredients because quite frankly I hadn’t heard of some of them, but I went down to a local Indian shop and I was happy to find all of them in one place! Awesome. Continue reading
I’m not sure why, but lately I’ve been craving some homemade Mac’ n Cheese. So I searched the internet for a recipe and on Epicurious.com (Love this site!), I found a twist on the traditional version…one that included goat cheese and caramelized onions. I’m in!
What is bread pudding you ask? It is amazingly delicious! Well, this one is at least. I can remember turning my nose up at this the first time my dad made this a long time ago, “What? No chocolate?? I probably won’t like it.” I was wrong. Since then, almost every time I was home for a special occasion, I would request this. Continue reading
It’s that time again! The holidays are upon us and this is the first year in my life I am away from my Florida home and spending Christmas away. Well, away is relative, since I actually live in Munich 😉 Aaaanyhow, every year since I can remember, my mom and I have made our favorite Peanut Blossom Cookies and I had to carry on the tradition this year even without her here with me to, truth be told, do most of the work. Hehe. Continue reading
Last spring I went to a restaurant with a friend of mine and ordered a Grilled Goat Cheese and Honey Salad. It was love at first bite. I went back repeatedly to have this salad and even asked the cook how they get that crispy layer of deliciousness on top. “They grill it” he says. No details on how, what temperature, with what?? Ok, I was on my own… Continue reading
I’m not sure about you, but I love love love Thai food, especially red Thai curry and Pad Thai (of which I have yet to try making) For some reason I have always been under the assumption that it was difficult to make, but it is most definitely not! In fact, it’s pretty fool proof and a really yummy dinner for a night where you don’t really feel like making anything too time consuming. Also, the best part about making it at home is you get to customize it to you…for instance I’m not a huge fan of peppers in my food, but you could load me up on mushrooms, snow peas, and extra spice! Every year as fall and winter set in here in Munich I start to crave certain things and soup is definitely one of them! Nothing is better on a cold night than a hearty soup with some fresh bread and a glass of red wine. Normally, I have to drag myself out into the cold to visit one of my favorite soup spots around town…but no more! This year I will learn to make them myself. So this years first blogpost and recipe is for “Spicy Sweet Potato Soup” Continue reading
