Fall Cravings- Spicy Sweet Potato Soup

Every year as fall and winter set in here in Munich I start to crave certain things and soup is definitely one of them! Nothing is better on a cold night than a hearty soup with some fresh bread and a glass of red wine. Normally, I have to drag myself out into the cold to visit one of my favorite soup spots around town…but no more! This year I will learn to make them myself. So this years first blogpost and recipe is for “Spicy Sweet Potato Soup”

I followed this recipe almost exactly and it turned out amazing! I added a little extra red pepper, about a 1/2 cup coconut milk, and not by choice… had to make my own peanut butter. Actually, I have to give my husband credit for that one 🙂 Other than that, I did everything else the same and it was delicious and I will definitely be making it again!

I did learn a few things on my first soup journey…when they tell you not to fill the blender too full when blending soup, they mean it. I found out the hard way how full is too full and ended up with an orange spotted kitchen and a burnt arm. Lesson learned. At least the end product was worth it 🙂
