Tackling Indian Food, Making Chicken Korma

I am a fanatic about Indian food and it gets a little pricey to order it or go out to dinner frequently, so I thought I would tackle it in the kitchen. I thought it might be challenging to find some of the ingredients because quite frankly I hadn’t heard of some of them, but I went down to a local Indian shop and I was happy to find all of them in one place! Awesome.

This recipe was actually fairly easy and painless. The only thing I changed in the recipe was instead of adding salt at the end, I added a little chicken base to punch up the flavor. Also I left out the lemon because, well, I forgot…but I don’t think it took anything away from it. The flavor was a perfect mix of spicy, sweet and salty and I will definitely be making it again!

One little tip though if you decide to make Indian in your home, be sure and open up some windows while cooking because the smells are pretty strong and maybe you don’t want to have the delicious Indian spices lingering while you have coffee the next morning. 😉
