It’s that time again! The holidays are upon us and this is the first year in my life I am away from my Florida home and spending Christmas away. Well, away is relative, since I actually live in Munich 😉 Aaaanyhow, every year since I can remember, my mom and I have made our favorite Peanut Blossom Cookies and I had to carry on the tradition this year even without her here with me to, truth be told, do most of the work. Hehe.
So even though baking is not really my forte, I thought I’d make an exception for this blog post and share with everyone our recipe. It is fairly easy (like I said, I’m not a baker) and not all that time consuming, and always a hit. 🙂
Hope everyone has a great holiday and if you do try these, I hope you enjoy!
Ingredients: (I usually double this because there just doesn’t ever seem to be enough to share)
- 1 3/4 Cup Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Sugar for decorating (red and green)
Preheat oven to 350F/180C . In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugars, and egg. Next add peanut butter and vanilla. Last stir dry ingredients, flour, baking soda, and salt. (I found this time the batter was crumbly, if this happens, you can add a little milk until it sticks together)
Next roll dough into small balls and roll in sugar and place on baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Take the cookies out of the oven and place a Hershey Kiss in the middle of each cookie and place sheet back in the oven for another 3-4 minutes. Enjoy!
